Back

So a Thanksgiving has come and gone and by far - this year's was probably the more exhausting I've had in awhile. I'm not sure if it was the 13/14 hour car ride each way or the insane amount of shopping we did; but something about the holidays just tire me out. I would have been happily content to sit around most of the weekend and enjoy myself reading, watching movies, and playing video games. Hours upon hours of walking, shopping, and more shopping somehow just made me wish for the end of the weekend alittle bit more. About four years ago my wife and I were merely friends on a touring ministry drama team from our "University":http://www.cedarville.edu that crisscrossed the Southwest for 10 weeks; starting in Nashville, across Texas to LA, up to San Fran and back to San Diego before doubling back to Ohio - hitting the Grand Canyon along the week. Many weekends were spent in a 15 passenger can with five other people, hours upon hours of just driving. Thirteen hours here. Fourteen hours there. An eight hour skip over there somewhere. Point is, I love traveling. Yet for some reason this past weekend of driving just drained me. I'm not sure why. It could be the days of shopping, the close quarters of a long drive with six other individuals, or the gloomy weather. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm glad back home...for now.
