Albums Not Spun
Notice the lighter background on this post? Yea, that’s just a little reminder that this post comes from me, the second half of the FriendsWithManagers crew. Yea, I don’t post as much but that’s just cause I’m busy and picky, all rolled up into one.
Alright, how often have you bought an album and just not listened to it? I’ve got a laundry list. Here we go.
7 Angels 7 Plagues - Jhazmyne’s Lullaby
Picked this up at Furnace Fest 2002. The first two tracks are killer, but I haven’t gotten any farther.
The Arcade Fire - Funeral
Okay, I’ve listened to it a few times but I haven’t intentionally given it 100% of my attention. This has got to happen this week.
Ben Kweller - On My Way
His debut disc Sha Sha is amazing, as is his live set, and I bought the follow-up on an impulse. If he can give me 50% as much on the sophomore disc, I’ll still love ‘em.
The Blood Brothers - Crimes
Yea, I loved Burn, Piano Island, Burn. I’ll be seeing them live next weekend, so I better get well versed on the new material._
Cool Hand Luke - Fires of Life + Wake Up O Sleeper
Cursive - The Ugly Organ
...and I’ve heard such good things.
Divide By Zero - Answer to No One
Early Day Miners - All Harm Ends Here
(I HEART EDM. I picked this up when they played at Wright State U in Dayton, Ohio. Nice guys.)
Elliott Smith - From a Basement on the Hill
His last will and testament.
Forstella Ford - Well Versed In Deception
The best band to come out of Wisconsin. I promise.
Hella - Chirpin Hard / Church Gone Wild
My sister-in-law picked this up for me when they played at her theatre.
Kid Dynamite - Kid Dynamite
Punk how it should be.
Kutless - Strong Tower
From a PR package.
Minor Threat - Complete Discography
(Another impulse buy. Wanted to connect with Ian’s roots.)
The Roots - Phrenology
Ryan Adams - Demolition + Love Is Hell pt. 2 + Rock N Roll
Wow...three albums.
Soul Junk - 1955 + 1956 + 1957 + 1958
Four? Sheesh.
Sparta - Porcelain
I’m pathetic.
Symphony In Peril - The Whore’s Trophy
TV on the Radio - Desparate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes
This album won the 2004 Shortlist Award.
What’s your list look like?
Damien Jurado’s latest album, On My Way To Absence, just hit the shelves on April 5th from the mighty Secretly Canadian label. CMJ review here.

Finally! 2 loving people have cared enough to share their thoughts with me. Why don't you join the party?
Definitely agree with the *Cool Hand Luke* nod. There’s an album I got for free and I still regret it.
Um, nods to *Outkast/Speakerboxxx’s* last release as well.
Also Gratitude’s self-titled debut left me wanting alittle more then I had heard.

I’m not saying I don’t like these albums...I just haven’t had the time to sit down and listen to them. Today I’m hitting up the Arcade Fire and the Blood Brothers.
