14. Denison Witmer and 15. Beck
Denison Witmer
Are You A Dreamer?
Growing up in central Pennsylvania, I heard a lot about the Philadelphia based Denison Witmer. Yet it took the solid musical guidance of Mr. Spitzer to finally allow me to turn the leaf on Witmer and give him the attention he deserves. His Safe Away album remains on my favorites all time, and his Recovered album finds its way into my rotation regularly enough. Witmer’s early 2005 Are You A Dreamer? just heightens his musical abilities further. Partnering with friends throughout the album, some of Witmer’s best tracks to date are found on this great disc. Having Sufjan Stevens guest star on the album only lends to the disc’s musical odyessey that it embarks upon with listeners. For any who have been meaning to look into Witmer or have been thinking of revisiting the folk singer, check out this stand-out release.
15. Beck
Guero
I’ll be honest. Until 2002 my brief run-ins with Beck were in the form of his hit single “Loser”. When Sea Change released in 2002, I was an instant fan. His fluid and ambient pop music methods just amazed me, and the album easily made my favorites of the year; yet with Guero we see a continuation of this mixed in with his more colorful musical past. Guero is definitely a great album, and it gets better upon further review.

Okay. So only one person has cared enough to leave their two cents. How depressing! Especially considering all the trouble I went through posting this in the first place. Well you can leave a comment if you want. It might cheer me up.
Denison Witmer is my favorite. Ever.
